Dignity
James Fotopoulos

(2012, 82 min.)

Agents Mr. Rainbow and Mr. Lamb are sent to an alien planet fighting a civil war. Their mission to destroy a perpetual motion machine is interrupted by their capture. While their interrogations proceed the two men struggle to come to terms with their suffering and pending death.
Dignity uses the minimal structure of a sci-fi B-film, the high artifice of painted backdrops, prosthetic horror effects, psychedelic noise soundtrack and early digital techniques to flesh out the philosophical ideas ranging from the stoic writings Marcus Aurelius to the fantasy prison drawings of Giovanni Battista Piranesi.

Glimmer Exodus Overture
Michael Trigilio
(2019, 12:31 min.)

Permission is an illusion and resisting power is proactive not purchased. The Glimmer of this Exodus Overture are a loosely-knit cohort of visionaries, radicals, and creators. They have leveraged their gifts and their work to connect with a cosmic intelligence, enabling their organization and departure from Earth, vowing to make a new world. The work of the Glimmer is a process of trial-and-error: mistakes are made, the future is built, and transcendence is possible.
Since 2018 multimedia artist Michael Trigilio has been developing a long-form narrative project based on his serialized science-fiction novel, Glimmer: Verse One of the Blockchain Elegy. The sequences in this Overture illuminate the sounds, landscapes, vessels, and visualizations born in the world of the novel.
